Myles McGrane is the principal for MTM Consult. For eleven years (1995 -2006) he was the General Manager of one of the more demanding market places in the world - New York City's Javits Center. His tenure was during a period characterized by a remarkable business turn-around; a notable reform of labor unions, new services added, and the establishment of a sustainable business model emphasizing high occupancy. That model has kept the Javits Center operating with an annual budget surplus for thirteen consecutive years. No other convention center in the country has a comparable record. Mr. McGrane was named to the "Top 100 - Most Influential" individuals in the trade show and convention industry for 2004 and 2006 by Trade Show Week.
For the past two years, Mr. McGrane was Corporate Vice President for Facility Design for Centerplate, one of the convention center industry's top tier concessionaire and catering companies. This past year he was involved with many convention center projects which include: a new catering kitchen (over 7,000 square feet) at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibit Centre, a new restaurant at the San Diego Convention Center, renovation of the food courts at the Orange County (FL) Convention Center and the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Prior to the Javits Center, Mr. McGrane held management positions for Ogden Entertainment and the National Broadcasting Company.
Mr. McGrane is an Annapolis graduate and a former Navy pilot. He also holds a Masters degree in City Planning from the University of Tennessee.
